Bonnie Tyler Listening Party to feature in new Tim Burgess book
Tim Burgess, singer-songwriter and frontman of The Charlatans, launched Tim’s Twitter Listening Party in March 2020 after the first COVID-19 lockdown began. Since its inception, he has welcomed over 1,000 artists and albums from world stars like Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones, and it has been an invaluable promotional opportunity for new and up-and-coming bands, especially when live gigs weren’t possible.
At a pre-arranged time, the artist begins tweeting a track-by-track commentary while people from all around the world listen, interact and tweet with #TimsTwitterListeningParty. In 2020, Bonnie Tyler hosted two listening parties, the first for her 1983 album Faster Than the Speed of Night, and again for what was then her latest album, Between the Earth and the Stars. So popular was her Faster… listening party that it’s currrently listed among the Top 100 replays.
In 2021, Tim published the first volume of The Listening Party, featuring highlights and annotations from various listening parties. Volume 2 features content from Bonnie’s Faster Than the Speed of Night listening party, and it’s set for release on 3 November 2022. Pre-order copies signed by Tim at Rough Trade.
