After the huge success of Faster Than the Speed of Night, Bonnie continued working with producer and songwriter Jim Steinman for her sixth studio album Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire.
It features the hit single ‘If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)’, later rewritten as ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ for Bon Jovi. The album closes with Bonnie’s Footloose recording ‘Holding Out for a Hero’, a song which still enjoys cultural relevance in the 21st century.
